Don't further traumatize yourself and expose yourself or loved ones to possible communicable diseases. Crime Scene Cleanup should be performed by those that have been professionally trained and know how to complete the work properly and legally.
The unexpected death of a loved one can be an extremely emotional time for anyone. When the death leaves behind a traumatic scene, these feelings are only compounded by the image of the events that took place which remain ingrained in loved ones memories forever. Do not further traumatize yourself by attempting to cleanup the scene yourself. Professional crime scene cleanup should be performed in order to remove 100% of the blood borne pathogens that are left behind. Let the caring staff at Crime Scene Steri-Clean provide you with the piece of mind that the scene was cleaned and disinfected completely.
Most people don't realize that any crime scene can be hazardous. Even if the victim was a friend or family member, it does not mean there are no dangers present. There are dozens of pathogens and diseases that can be transmitted through blood and bodily fluids during the crime scene cleanup process. Some of these, do not show any signs or symptoms for years so the host carrier may not have even known they were infected. It is imperative that crime scene cleanup is performed by professionals to make sure the scene is cleaned and disinfected thoroughly to prevent exposure to future occupants. Did you know diseases like Hepatitis can live outside the body for weeks and still be contagious? This is true even if the blood was wiped away, but improper disinfection techniques were used. Don't take chances! Have any crime scene cleanup performed by a licensed company registered with the State Health Department.
During the crime scene cleanup process, fabrics and and other absorbent materials saturated with blood will need to be removed and disposed of with a licensed biohazard facility. When mattresses, couches and chairs are saturated, our crime scene cleanup technicians will actually dismantle them, removing the saturated areas. The remainder of the furniture we will then dispose of as non regulated waste at a landfill. This reduces the cost of biohazard disposal. We make every attempt to bring down the cost of our crime scene cleanup service for our customers.
It is common for blood cleanup and crime scene cleanup to involve concrete and asphalt. Unfortunately, concrete is absorbent and can stain. Crime Scene Steri-Clean utilizes two methods to remove blood from concrete and asphalt. Our preferred method is through pressure washing and simultaneous vacuum recovery of all blood and waste water runoff. The copious amounts of water and high powered vacuum allows us to actually extract the blood out of the porous concrete. If the blood is located outside of our trucks 100 foot reach, we revert back to performing crime scene cleanup by hand. This method involves using solutions to help break down the blood along with scrubbing tools and absorbent cloths. If concrete is not sealed or the sealer is old, blood stains may occur. We make every effort to completely erase any signs or reminders of what has occurred.
